National Zoo (Zoo Negara) Animal Portraiture Project

I just came back from the zoo. This is the best place to test my 18-200mm Nikkor VR2 zoom lens. Under good lighting conditions, it is very sharp. However, I need a flash for fill in light since my pop-up flash range is quite limited. Anyway, there's always render light effect in photoshop. Muahaha!

My first processed portrait of a tiger in his swimming pool. Very sharp eyes. Huhu!

The monkeys behind bars. Kinda sad.

Cute little rabbits:

It's Bambi!!!

Bigger animals...

These animals looked tired.

Something small like a kangaroo could make it more interesting:

Or a giant tortoise:
You looking at me? hehehe...

Crocs. Real ones, not those ugly rubber flippers.. hehe

Next, I zoomed to this bird through it's cage:

Giraffes are tall.. really tall!

However, the biggest animal of all... the mighty Elephants!

Next animal, the birds...

The 'tenuk' seems really bored...

Finally, some really 'fierce' animals which are my favourites:-
This lion is relaxing..

But, this tiger is active!

Lastly, the savannah...

End of line.

The Curve (around 7.50 pm)

I was standing at the entrance of Cinelesiure Mall at the Curve today, after having a GCB at McD earlier. It was around 7.50 pm. GCB was really good. Tara-pap-pah paw.... I'm lovin' it!

Landscape shots: Taiping (2009)

Nice view of the lake in Taiping. I should do more landscape shoots whenever I go balik kampung. Hehehe!
That's my landscape outdoor shoot last year. Hope to do better this year.

Some earlier model portraitures

It was at the beginning of this year when I started to go to studios to learn portraiture photography. With minimal equipment, just a Nikon D5000 with18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR kit lens and a 35mm f/1.8 prime lens; I was not at all disadvantaged since most studios have good lighting and strobes available for the shoot.

Here are some of it, after some real beauty touch-ups in Photoshop. hehe

Coming soon - Mitsubishi Lancer EX

Gonna get this car soon..woohoo!

A Wedding Photoshoot

Went to Nikonian Academy for this Wedding Theme photoshoot.

Here's some other shots:

All photos taken in studio. I'm glad my Nikkor 18-200mm VR2 zoom lens performed gloriously indoors with results as sharp as primes. The trick is to shoot raw, when white balance fails and get the sharpest shots. Afterwards, process everything in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 where necessary. Wedding photography is so easy, I should have done it ages ago. hehehe

Anyway, I'll be doing my first ever paid assignment for my friend's wedding at the end of this month. Hope I'll do an excellent job and maybe I'll get more business after this. Woohoo! Gambateh!

2010 - Let's begin again....

I am a photographer. It is my destiny. I shall succeed. My vision is clear. My path of exploration shall begin again!
